The Fundación Pedro Cavadas (Pedro Cavadas Foundation) provides free modern reconstructive surgery to underprivileged patients from African countries.
It is the first time that this Foundation is an entity in solidarity with a sporting event.
Valencia, 22-07-2019.- The 10K Valencia Ibercaja chose Fundación Pedro Cavadas as the solidary entity of this next edition 2020. Therefore, the total funds raised from the solidarity contributions will go entirely to this foundation.
The money raised is obtained thanks to the voluntary contributions of the runners who register for the event and choose to donate the extra 3€ for this purpose, something that people who are interested can do from the first moment the race opens registrations.
From the event, its director Álex Aparicio assures that “it is a pleasure to be able to contribute our grain of sand to this project, and we hope to achieve a record in solidarity and visibility for the great work of Pedro Cavadas and his Foundation. In addition, both the Valencian status of the Doctor and the fact that it focuses on Africa, a continent to which several members of the organization are especially committed, makes everything even more special”.
This is the first time that the Fundación Pedro Cavadas will be part of a sporting event as a solidarity entity, something that Pedro Cavadas himself emphasizes and appreciates. “It is a great satisfaction for me and for the Foundation to be the supportive entity of a competition like this, both for the visibility it gives us within the world of running, and for the help we are given thanks to the solidarity of the participants,” says Cavadas. He continues saying “All help is more than welcome to be able to carry on with our work”.
