The athletes Raquel Landín y Marta Fernández de Castro de Castro will again lead the Training Groups of the XI edition of the 10K Valencia Ibercaja. In addition to being graduates in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences and running their own clubs, both have the national title of athletics coaches, awarded by the Real Federación Española de Atletismo (Royal Spanish Athletics Federation – RFEA).
The groups will be of two levels, according to the experience and aspirations of each runner. The five sessions, which start on Saturday 8 December, will take place every Saturday 8, 15, 22 and 29 December, and 5 January. The ‘Performance Group’ will be led by Marta Fernández de Castro, athlete and coach of Team 3FDC, and will be held from 8:30 am at the entrance of the Athletics Courts of l’Estadi del Túria.
On the other hand, the ‘Initiation Group’ will be directed by the athlete Raquel Landín, trainer of The Kenyan Urban Way team, and the sessions will take place from 9:00h, in the old Turia riverbed under the yellow footbridge at Carrefour Campanar.
This year, there will also be a training group dedicated to the little ones. On Saturdays, parallel to the Training Groups, both Initiation and Performance, will take place, in the same place and at the same time, groups aimed at children between 9 and 16 years
All those interested in being part of the Performance and Initiation Training Groups will be able to register as of this Wednesday, November 7, at 10:00h, through the website www.10kvalencia.com. Registration will be free, as long as you are registered at 10K Valencia Ibercaja.
Registration places are limited to 150 people per group. Registrants will receive an exclusive commemorative t-shirt as a gift and will be able to benefit from a weekly training plan to prepare for the race. However, any participant in the event who has not registered in the Groups but wants to attend, may do so freely.
It is also not necessary to register online for groups aimed at children, although upon arrival at the sessions, parents or guardians will have to complete and sign a paper authorisation.
Participation will be free of charge, “Although we hope that all of them will participate in the 10Kids on Sunday 13 January”, said Alex Aparicio, director of the event.
