• According to the RFEA ranking, the race will be ranked as the best 10km race in the country in 2019, ahead of the San Silvestre Vallecana and with the 10K Valencia Trinidad Alfonso who complete the top three.
Valencia, 21-01-2020 – The 10K Valencia Ibercaja, which is the fastest road race in the world, is now also confirmed as the best distance race in Spain in 2019. After the ranking published by the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (RFEA), the quality of a race is confirmed, as it now ranked best of last year in that distance, ahead of the Nationale-Nederlanden San Silvestre Vallecana and with the 10K Valencia Trinidad Alfonso.
In terms of the Federation’s ranking score, the 10K Valencia Ibercaja achieved 3,026 points, “la Vallecana” a total of 3,006 and the 10K Valencia Trinidad Alfonso, which officially said goodbye in December 2019, achieved 1,942 points.
The 10K Valencia Ibercaja, which this 2020 was the first Gold Label of the World Athletics (new name of the IAAF), adds this new milestone after the already outstanding achievements this past January 12 of the double World Record of 5K and 10K achieved by Rhonex Kipruto (with 13:18 and 26:24, respectively), the European Record of 10K (Area Record) by Julien Wanders (27:13) and up to another 4 national records set.
