Ascires will train volunteer staff in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid to reinforce the safety of the race. The race will be supported by the biomedical group for the next two editions.

Valencia, 07-09-2021.- The 10KValencia Ibercaja reinforces the medical safety of the race with Ascires Grupo Biomédico, which will train the volunteer staff of the race in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid to ensure the best health care for the participants. Thus, Spain's leading group in Genetics, Diagnostic Imaging and Nuclear Medicine will be the new Health Sponsor of the best 10K in Spain during 2021 and 2022, supporting the volunteers of the race and carrying out other actions aimed at the runners. 

Specifically, Ascires and its medical professionals will lead training sessions in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid for volunteers and members of the organisation, as well as interested participants.

From the 10K Valencia Ibercaja, its director Álex Aparicio welcomed Ascires and thanked them for their commitment to the race and their support in such an important area as health. "This union -he added- is a source of pride for us and we are convinced that great results will come out of it". 

For her part, Dr Alicia Maceira, medical director of Ascires Grupo Biomédico and coordinator of the Ascires Cardiovascular Unit, stressed that at the Ascires group "we are passionate about sport, but safe sport. And, in this, prevention is key. In this sense, the collaboration with the 10K Valencia Ibercaja is a great opportunity to raise awareness of the safe practice of sport, providing our experience and expertise in sports medicine and cardiovascular health".

Sports services with exclusive discounts for runners 

The biomedical group will also carry out other types of actions to support runners, such as sponsoring the traditional Team Village, a private space for the groups, teams and clubs with the greatest presence in the race. In addition, participants in the race will be eligible for exclusive discounts on the services of the Advanced Sports Medicine Unit of the Ascires Biomedical Clinics network, such as stress tests and heart and sports check-ups.
