The 10K Valencia Ibercaja has delivered the solidarity collection that runners, both 10K and 5K, donated in the registration process for the Association Against Cancer in Valencia. A total of 7,214 euros, which have been allocated in full to the Association, solidarity entity of the 10K Valencia Ibercaja 2024.
This solidarity check has been delivered to the president of Contra el Cáncer in Valencia, Tomás Trénor. This delivery, which took place at the headquarters of the Association itself, was attended, in addition to Alex Aparicio, director of the 10K Valencia Ibercaja, Jose Gil, provincial director of Valencia Ibercaja, main sponsor of the race, and Maria Angeles Vidal, managing director of the Municipal Sports Foundation of the City of Valencia. Chimo Bayo, who has been leading the show at the start of the race for six editions now, did not want to miss this charity event either.
The collection of 7,214 euros has been achieved thanks to the voluntary contribution of 100% solidarity that this year's participants made during the registration process, both of the 10K Valencia Ibercaja and the parallel race, the 5K Valencia Vamos.
The 10K will run against cancer for the next three editions
During the check presentation ceremony, the organization announced that the Association Against Cancer in Valencia will be the solidarity entity of the race for the next three editions. That is, the runners of the 10K and 5K will be able to make their 100% solidarity contributions to the entity during the registration processes of 2025, 2026 and 2027.
This alliance makes it possible for the participants of the best 10K in the world to continue running against cancer, doing their bit to help the Association in its essential work for both people suffering from this disease and their families.
Tomás Trénor, president of Contra el Cáncer in Valencia, thanked all the runners for their solidarity with the fight against cancer, and was very pleased with the news received from the organization.
"The fact that we are the solidarity entity for the next three editions is a source of pride for the Association. The alliance of sport and solidarity against cancer is something that we carry deep inside with our RunCáncer circuit of marches and races. We are very grateful to the 10K Valencia Ibercaja for counting on us for three more years. Everyone's help is essential to continue helping and researching against the disease," said Trénor.
Likewise, both the Association and the race have sent a message of sincere gratitude to all the volunteers who make it possible for the race to be held in the best possible conditions every year. "Their altruistic support is essential, we have 10 volunteers," they said.
