In view of the incident that occurred at the first start of the race, which involved several dozen athletes who fell or saw their progress interrupted:
1.- We regret any problems this incident may have caused to all involved. The safety of the participants is the most important thing.
2.- The Organization had arranged a meticulously distributed start so that the runners could place themselves according to their marks.
3.- However, not everything went well. Due to the density of runners, we absolutely understand that we must again increase the improvement measures at this point.
We will study from now on the possible changes in the start for the welfare and safety of the runners, which is our best interest.
5.- According to the information we have, no one suffered serious injuries. Some runners had bruises and an elite Brazilian athlete had a dislocated shoulder.
6.- After this incident, the race proceeded normally with nearly 10,000 participants arriving at the finish line.
We reiterate our apologies to all those affected. Thank you very much for your understanding and we will continue working for all of you.
