The 10K Valencia Ibercaja by Kiprun has once again demonstrated its enormous drawing power. On the first day of registration for the 2027 edition, the race has already exceeded 10,000 registered runners, reaching the third price bracket just a few hours after the process opened at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, February 10.
The fastest 10K in the world and the best 10K in Spain in its last five editions, to be held on Sunday, January 10, 2027, is maintaining a pace of registrations that suggests, once again, that it will be sold out before the event. With a limit of 16,000 bibs, the organization does not rule out repeating the milestone of the last edition, when the sold-out sign was hung months before the race.
After selling out in just nine hours, the first two stages—the initial 5,000 bibs at €15 and the next 5,000 at €18—registrations have now moved on to the third stage, with prices at €22 until the 15,000 participant limit is reached. The last 1,000 bibs will cost €25. As planned, registration will close on January 3, 2027, or when the maximum quota is reached.
On behalf of the organization, director Álex Aparicio expressed his gratitude for "this warm welcome, which shows that runners don't want to miss out on the best 10K in the world." "This craze for the 10K after the best edition in history makes us work with even more enthusiasm, if possible, to make the 2027 race another global spectacle and leave the best possible impression on the thousands of participants who want to start the year running,"he added.
Meanwhile, the 5K Valencia Ibercaja, which will celebrate its fifth edition on the same day, has also been very well received since registration opened and is already approaching 400 registrations out of the 2,500 places available. The distance maintains its initial price of €8 for the first 1,000 bibs, before moving on to the next price brackets of €12 and €15.
It should be noted that both races include an official technical garment with the KIPRUN logo, the race's official sports brand, in the registration fee. In addition, runners can optionally purchase a commemorative medal for an extra €7, including engraving, a new feature this year that will also be available to 5K participants.
Likewise, the different registration periods for both distances continue to offer the possibility of making a 100% charitable contribution with a voluntary increase of €3, €5, or €10, which the organization will donate in full on behalf of participants who choose this option to the Spanish Association Against Cancer in Valencia.
The organization has been the joint sponsor of the trials since 2024, when it was announced that it would be so for four consecutive editions, including that of 2027.
