Two continental records and 14 national records, in a 10K Valencia with more than 13,000 runners at the finish line

The race achieved the men's records in Europe and South America. In addition to the Spanish men's record, national records were broken in Sweden, Switzerland, Belgium, Uruguay, Eritrea, England, Ireland, Holland, Denmark, Lithuania and China. In the women's category, records were set in Mexico and Tunisia.

The 10K Valencia Ibercaja by Kiprun celebrated this past Sunday, January 12, its largest edition, with 13,014 runners reaching the finish line, in which a multitude of records were again conquered. 

Specifically, in the 10K Valencia 2025 two continental records were broken , European and South American, and up to 14 national records, 12 male and two female. The day began with the victory of the Swedish athlete Andreas Almgren, who took the national record of Sweden and Europe, entering the finish line in 26:53, becoming the first European to go under 27 minutes in a 10K road race. 

For his part, the athlete Santiago Catrofe won the record of Uruguay and South America with a time of 27:16. In addition to the national records of Sweden and Uruguay, the national records of Switzerland, Belgium, Eritrea, England, Ireland, Holland, Denmark, Lithuania and China were also broken, without forgetting that of Spain with the time achieved by Ilias Fifa.

The 10K Valencia Ibercaja by Kiprun once again experienced an exciting day with records that will remain engraved in the history of athletics, in which 153 athletes went under 30 minutes (149 men and 4 women).  

A total of 850 participants ran under 35 minutes, and 1989 under 40 minutes. These figures show that the Valencia race is one of the fastest 10 km races in the world, where more and more runners from Spain and abroad want to come to participate. 

The largest edition of the 10K 

All these records have been achieved in a 17th edition of the 10K Valencia Ibercaja, in which a total of 13,014 popular runners crossed the finish line after enjoying the streets of Valencia Ciudad del Running and flying through the fastest circuit in the world.  

The thousands of runners, who took the start to the rhythm of Chimo Bayo's Hu-Ha! from the Paseo de la Alameda, inaugurated the running year in style, making this the largest edition of the 10K to date. 

5K Valencia Vamos 

The sports day of this Sunday, January 12, started at 8:25 am with the 5K Valencia Vamos, the test prior to the great race that celebrated its 3rd edition this year and brought together 1,049 runners at the finish line of the Paseo de la Alameda. The absolute winners of this race were Diego Klopfenstein and Chiara Spagnoli, who crossed the finish line in 15:08 and 16:56, respectively. 

A very supportive 10Kids Valencia 

The day before the 10K Valencia, the race celebrated its children's races with nearly 700 participants between 0 and 16 years old. The 10Kids Valencia Quirónsalud returned to its origins taking place in the athletics tracks of the Estadi del Túria on Saturday morning. 

In addition, it was the most charitable edition to date, since all the proceeds from the sale of the bibs, a total of 1,891 euros, have gone to help a young paraplegic affected by the DANA.
